January-March 2021


During the period of national lockdown (January-March 2021), in line with Government guidance, school will remain open to vulnerable children and young people and the children of critical workers only. All other pupils will receive remote education.  Pupils who are self- isolating should not attend school. Clinically extremely vulnerable pupils are also advised not to attend school.


Critical Workers
Children with at least one parent or carer who is a critical worker can go to school if required, but parents and carers should keep  their children at home if they can.

Vulnerable Children

Parents/carers of vulnerable children are encouraged to take up the offer of a school place. The definition of vulnerable children and young people includes children who have a social worker, an education, health and care plan (EHCP) or who may be vulnerable for another reason at local discretion (“otherwise vulnerable”).



Book a place in school

In order to support school planning and associated risk assessments, parents are required to inform school via the booking system of their request for a school place for their child.

If you do need to go to work to support the country’s fight to tackle coronavirus, contact the school office or our email school (enquiries@stbernadettes.npcat.org.uk) by 3pm each THURSDAY to request a place in our school for the following week.  Please inform school if your child is having a packed lunch a school dinner (hot/cold options available daily).


Wraparound care

All NPCAT schools will continue with our commitment to provide wrap around provision for vulnerable children and children of critical workers. Please email school via the school email address or call the school office by 3pm each Thursday to inform us if you require a place for your child in after School’s In/Out.
