Respiratory infections including COVID guidance

Children and staff with mild respiratory symptoms should attend school.  Staff or students who are close contacts of people who are unwell should attend school.

Children who have symptoms of an infectious illness, such as a fever should not attend school. School may take the decision to send a child home to protect other children and staff from possible infection where symptoms of infectious illness are suspected.

The guidance advises children or young people with a positive COVID-19 test result to try to stay at home for 3 days after the day they took their test.

Continued COVID measures

As a school we will be continuing to put additional measures in place to minimise the risk of
transmission within the school setting. These include:
● Ensuring good hygiene for everyone by encouraging children to sanitise their hands
regularly throughout the day
● Maintaining proper cleaning regimes
● Keeping occupied spaces well ventilated
● Following Government self-isolation and managing confirmed cases of COVID-19.

in the event of a local outbreak, we may need to put additional, temporary measures in place.
