The Wednesday Word is given to families each week so they are fully supported in understanding the weekly Word and what children are learning in school.

We want to share the Good News of the Gospels with all our families.

Summer 1 2026

20.05.26 – Holiday-Booklet

13.05.26 – Friendship –  In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus is telling his Father in heaven that he has now completed what was asked of him. Then, Jesus prays for his friends.

06.05.26 – Helper – In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells the Disciples that, when he returns to heaven, he will ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit to be their helper.

29.04.26 – Trust – In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus begins to prepare his disciples for his departure from the world. Jesus is returning to his Father and will make a place ready for each of them in heaven.

22.04.26 – Follow – This Sunday is traditionally know as ‘Good Shepherd Sunday’. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who leads us into the joys of eternal life.

Spring 2 2026

25.03.26 – Lent-&-Easter-Special 

18.03.26 – Compassion – In this Sunday’s Gospel it reminds us of Jesus’ humanity. Jesus was upset by Lazarus’ death and wept for him.

10.03.26 – Healing – In this Sunday’s Gospel, we read about how Jesus brought healing and light into the life of the man who was born blind.

04.03.26 – God’s-Love – In this Sunday’s Gospel we have a witty dialogue between Jesus and the Samaritan woman drawing water at the well, where each seems to be teasing the other.

 

Spring 1 2026

11.02.26 – Half-Term-Holiday-Special (1)

04.02.26 – Goodness – This Sunday’s Gospel shows how the message of Jesus can change everything in the world.

28.01.26 – Happiness – The blessings in this Sunday’s Gospel, which promise true, lasting happiness, are taken from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and known as the Beatitudes.

21.01.26 – Community – In this Sunday’s Gospel, we hear about Jesus starting to gather together the first Christian community.

14.01.26 – Witness – In this Sunday’s Gospel, we return to the beginning of Jesus’ mission.

07.01.26 – New-Start – In this Sunday’s Gospel, John the Baptist didn’t see the need to baptise Jesus, because Jesus was sinless. But Jesus insisted because he wanted to stand alongside the community – to help them make a new start and give them an example to follow.

10.12.25 – Christmas-Holiday-Special

03.12.25 – Preparations – In this Sunday’s Gospel, we hear John the Baptist calling the people to repent (to come back to God) and to prepare themselves for Christ’s arrival.

26.11.25 – Advent – Advent is also the season of hope: a time to think deeply about Jesus’ return return at the end of time, which we read about in this Sunday’s Gospel.

19.11.25 – Mercy -This Sunday we celebrate the feast of Christ the King. In this Sunday’s Gospel, the leaders, the soldiers and the people all mock Jesus as God’s Chosen One and as King.

12.11.25 – Faithfulness – In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus encourages the disciples (and us too) to be faithful to him. Everybody wants a faith friend.Jesus offers to be our faithful friends and invites us to be his.

05.11.25 – Enthusiasm – In this Sunday’s Gospel, we read that poor Lazarus, suffering at the rich man’s gate – and the rich man does nothing to help him.

08.10.25 – Thankfulness – This Sunday’s Gospel reminds us how we can live happier lives by giving God what is due to him. We read about the Samaritan who thanked Jesus.

01.10.25 – Faith- – In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us of the power and the responsibility that comes with having faith in God.

24.09.25 – Sharing – In this Sunday’s Gospel, we read that poor Lazarus, suffering at the rich man’s gate – and the rich man does nothing to help him.

17.09.25 – TrustworthyThis Sunday’s Gospel reminds us about the value of being trustworthy people. We can show this by making good choices – especially when it comes to the use of money.

10.09.25 – Self-Giving-  In this Sunday’s Gospel, we read that God loves us so much that he gave his only Son for us.
