Week Beginning 16th October 2023   Please see school calendar for events coming up! School Calendar

This weeks round up.

Y6 scooted off to Robinwood on Wednesday but also had time to quickly enjoy a football tournament on Monday.  The whole school celebrated the Harvest festival and gave thanks to Mr Conway for his dedication and love for the school. Thank you so much for your generous contributions. The children also enjoyed a Missio assembly on Tuesday thinking more about Catholic Social Teaching and the effect we can have on the world. BBC Tees visited us on Wednesday – more information to follow about when to listen out for us! Some of our pupils also visited the Cathedral to learn a Trust song about Blessed Nicholas Postgate. All in all a busy 4 day week!

This coming week

Attendance Please find link to our attendance policy on the website. Please note you may receive a letter regarding your child’s attendance if it drops below 90%. We do understand that a few sessions off will make a big difference to percentage at this stage in the term.

BBC Radio Tees St Bernadette’s will be featured on the radio some time in December for a whole week! I will let you know when we have the date confirmed.

UPKS2 Playing on the field  We are going to trial allowing KS2 to play on the field during the Autumn. This will only be if they are wearing a pair of wellies or old outdoor shoes. We are going to turn our equipment shed into the ‘welly shed’ so your child can leave them in school if they wish. This will only be for Y6, Y5 and Y4 in the first instance. We will also review this at Christmas if it doesn’t work (Im anxious about the mud!!) The children will change shoes in the shed before coming back into the school building. This will begin after half term.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Miss Brady
