Welcome

Year 2 is a class of 28 wonderful children. We are now the oldest children in Key
Stage One. We are trying our best to be great role models to the younger children in
our school. We follow our class rules that we designed ourselves to be the best
learners and best friends to one another. Whilst learning the story of Noah’s Ark, we
reflected on Pope Francis’ message from Laudato Si: ‘it takes one good person to
restore hope’. We use this quote to inspire kindness in every action that we do.

Year 2 love to support those who need it the most as we follow our class strand of
Catholic Social Teaching: Preferential Option for the Poor. Poppy the Popokotea, our
class mascot, helps us in our decisions for helping the poor. So far, Year 2 have
purchased a goat for a family in another country through CAFOD, supported the
CAUSE hamper appeal and donated for harvest festival. We have even more plans
for the year ahead to support those who need it the most.

In Year 2, our teacher is Miss Lumley and our teaching assistant is Mrs Wildbure.
